A few easy wins for getting back into routine, plus fun local ideas.

How are you doing? Did you survive winter break? We’re wrapping up our first week back in our usual routines and feeling pretty good over here. Wouldn’t mind some brighter skies, but at least the days are getting longer, right?
A few quick things to know:
• There’s still one more week to enter the draw with your completed BINGO card. You only need to complete 4 of the downtown activities to enter!
• We’ve updated the Kindergym & Playgroup schedule on our website.
• Storytime at the library starts back up next week!

More Family Fun in 2026
I’m dreaming up a few new ways to bring Little Local to life this year, and I’d love your input so I can focus on what matters most for your family.
Little Local Events
I’d love to host more in-person gatherings like casual meetups or family fun days.
What kinds of events would you show up for? What feels missing for families in Victoria?
Little Local Crew
This would be a year-long family membership with quarterly snail mail like adventure cards, printed passports, and stickers, plus early access to events, giveaways, and local discounts. Does this sound like something your family would enjoy?
Planning Tools
I’m considering a camp planner that shows all local camps by week, lets you save favourites, get notified when registration opens, and track what you’ve booked for your kids. Would this be useful for your family?
I’d love to hear your thoughts on these ideas or anything else you’d love to see from Little Local this year. Thank you for being part of this community 💛

Don’t Trust Fish: A hilarious, beautifully illustrated picture book for kids ages 3–7. Expect strong opinions, lots of laughing, and a fun reminder that not everything you read should be taken too seriously. 🐠
Lentil Bolognese: This lentil bolognese is cozy, tasty, and secretly packed with the good stuff. Lentils don’t make a regular appearance in our meals, but when they’re simmered into a delicious tomato sauce and served with everyone’s favourite noodles, it’s a win, even for our more particular eaters. 🍝

LEGO Exhibit at the Sidney Museum
🗓️ Now until April 6, 2026
📍 Sidney Museum | 2423 Beacon Ave, Sidney
If your family loves LEGO, you won’t want to miss the annual LEGO Brick Exhibition at the Sidney Museum. Each winter, the museum fills its galleries with hundreds of colourful LEGO creations, from classic sets to wild builds our kids can only dream of. There’s even a community display featuring creations from local builders.
Make a day of it with a stop at Glass Beach, a visit to the Shaw Centre for the Salish Sea, and lunch at Scottie’s Dog Shack.
