Whether your kids are here for the candy, the costumes or a good scare, there are plenty of ways to celebrate Halloween around Greater Victoria. I’ve gathered local outings, creative workshops, community celebrations and trick-or-treat spots to help you make your plans.

🎃 Visit a Pumpkin Patch

Find the perfect pumpkin and make a little outing of it. Our pumpkin patch guide has local spots for a quick pick or a full afternoon of farm fun. [Info]

🚂 Halloween Train at BC Forest Discovery Centre in Duncan
Select evenings, October 16–30
If the Halloween Train is on your family’s list, now’s the time to book! Tickets are on sale, and popular dates tend to sell out early. [Info & tickets]

🎃 Pumpkinfest at Galey Farms
Select dates, October 3–November 1
Train rides, a corn maze, wagon rides, a kids’ haunted house and a pumpkin patch make this a full fall outing. Open weekends, Thanksgiving Monday and Friday, October 23. Pumpkins cost extra; children two and under get free admission. [Info & tickets]

⛳ Spooky Mini Golf at Haunted Manor
Open daily | 711 Yates Street
Putt through 18 holes inside a haunted manor, with ghostly storytelling and interactive effects along the way. An indoor outing for kids who enjoy a little spooky atmosphere. No live scare actors, but there are two mild air-powered surprises. Booking ahead is recommended. [Info]

🌙 Festival of Fear at Galey Farms
Select evenings, October 8–31
Explore the farm after dark, with a train ride, corn maze, Ghost Town and more. The separate Asylum haunted house is recommended for ages 13+, so check the ticket options and choose the experience that suits your family’s appetite for scary stuff. [Info]

🦇 Halloween at the Library
October 19–31
Halloween storytimes, crafts, Batwings & Broomsticks and more at your nearest public library branch. [Info]

🍿 Have a Halloween Movie Night
Get into PJs, pop some popcorn and settle in for a Halloween movie. Pick something gently spooky for little ones or a few bigger thrills for older kids. Check our our movie guide.

🛍️ Spooky 3: Revenge of the Markets
Saturday, October 17 & Sunday, October 18 | 11am–4pm
Head to Langford Station to browse Halloween creations, witchy wares and handmade goods from more than 30 guest vendors, plus resident artists and local food trucks. Free and family-friendly, rain or shine. [Info]

👾 Monster Makers at Birdhouse
Monday, October 19 | 4:45pm
Turn a glove into a stuffed monster friend, complete with googly eyes and whatever weird and wonderful details kids dream up. At Birdhouse Creative in Langford [Register]

🐙 A-Scare-ium of the Salish Sea
Friday, October 23 | 4:30–8pm
Trick-or-treat through the aquarium at Shaw Centre for the Salish Sea, search for underwater jack-o’-lanterns and enjoy face painting and spooky displays that aren’t too scary. Entry by donation, with a suggested $5–10 per person. [Info]

👻 Vic West Halloween Fun Day
Saturday, October 24 | 10am–2pm
Pumpkin carving, Halloween crafts, games, face painting and treats at this free family event. Head to Victoria West Community Centre for a little daytime Halloween fun. [Info]

🎃 Halloween Market YYJ
Saturday, October 24 & Sunday, October 25
Browse local handmade goods and spooky creations at the da Vinci Centre, with food, music and workshops rounding out the market. Admission at the door is $6; children 12 and under are free. Kids are welcome, though some vendor items may suit older visitors. [Info]

🔮 Metchosin Bewitched Market
Saturday, October 24 & Sunday, October 25 | 10am–4pm
Explore a market of makers and mystics at Metchosin Community Hall, with interactive spell stations and a potion-making bar for little witches and wizards. Free admission. [Info]

🎉 Wicked Victoria
Sunday, October 25 | 10am–3pm
Get those costumes out for trick-or-treating with participating businesses and vendors downtown on Government Street, plus live entertainment, crafts, and kids’ activities. Free. [Info]

🧪 Slime + Potions
Tuesday, October 27 | 5:30–7pm
Make slime, mix colourful bubbling potions and experiment with messy ingredients at this hands-on Halloween workshop at Birdhouse Creative in Langford. $36.75. [Register]

🎃 Boo Bash Kindergym
Thursday, October 29 | 9:30–11am
Get your little ones into costume at Greenglade Community Centre in Sidney for Halloween activity stations, paint tattoos and Kindergym play. A morning outing for the preschool crowd. [Info]

👶 Kids Physio Halloween Baby Party
Friday, October 30 | Noon–1:30pm
A free, drop-in Halloween playgroup at Kids Physio Victoria for children under three. Bring your little one for some playtime with other babies and toddlers. [Info]

🪄 The Great Hall-oween Party
Friday, October 30 | 5–6:30pm
Get those costumes on for an evening of games, treats and creative making with a little magical inspiration at Birdhouse Creative in Langford. [Register]

🦴 Halloween at Swan Lake
Saturday, October 31 | 11am–3pm
Get hands-on with bones and skulls at Swan Lake Nature House, learn why they’re not so scary, and visit the spooky-creature colouring station. Costumes welcome! Free or by donation; children must attend with an adult. Programming pauses from noon–12:30pm. [Info]

🎤 Kids Halloween Karaoke Party
Saturday, October 31 | Noon–4pm
Catch Mister Mojo’s Halloween performances at noon and 2pm at The Open Studios (downtown), then let the kids take the mic for karaoke at 1pm and 3pm. All ages; $10 admission. [Info]

🎨 All Ages Halloween Paint Party
Saturday, October 31 | 2:30pm
Create your own jack-o’-lantern painting at this guided, all-ages workshop at Paul Phillips Hall. A creative way to spend the afternoon before heading out for trick-or-treating. [Tickets]

👻 Esquimalt Halloween Spooktacular
Saturday, October 31 | 5:30pm
Stop by for family-friendly Halloween activities and a community BBQ at Archie Browning Sports Centre in Esquimalt. [Info]

🦋 Halloween Spooktacular at Butterfly Gardens
Saturday, October 31 | 10am–2pm
Explore the Halloween-decorated gardens, complete a scavenger hunt and meet fascinating insects at the keeper table. The first 100 costumed children to finish the hunt receive a full-sized chocolate bar, with smaller candies available afterwards while supplies last. Activities are included with admission. [Info]

🎃 Trick-or-Treat on the Avenue
Saturday, October 31 | 2–5pm
Visit participating merchants along Oak Bay Avenue, from Foul Bay Road to Monterey Avenue. Look for pumpkin posters in shop windows identifying the trick-or-treat stops. Info.

🍭 Trick-or-Treat on the Boolevard
Saturday, October 31 | 3–5pm
Get an early start on the candy collecting with an afternoon of trick-or-treating at participating Uptown Boulevard retailers. Come in costume and make your way along the Boulevard. [Info]

🍬 Treat Street in Sidney
Saturday, October 31 | 4:30–6pm
Bring your little trick-or-treaters downtown for costumes, candy collecting and Halloween fun with participating businesses. [Info]
